Helping the Cool Dude Programme Grow

Bridge Enterprise Centres is proud to support the Cool Dude Programme delivered by Southside Partnership.

This practical, hands-on programme helps children and young people build a better understanding of healthy food choices and healthy living. Through fun, interactive sessions, participants learn about food preparation, cooking, food safety, knife safety and general kitchen safety. Just as importantly, they are encouraged to try new foods, share ideas from home and bring their learning back to their families.

Cool Dude Programme

The programme was designed to make healthy eating accessible, enjoyable and realistic for children in everyday life. Each participant receives a handbook with simple recipes they can try again at home, helping the impact of the course reach beyond the classroom and into the wider community.

In total, the programme is expected to benefit 90 children and their families from marginalised communities over the coming months.

To date, two Cool Dude camps have been delivered at Good Shepherd National School in June and July, creating early momentum and giving children an opportunity to develop practical cooking skills in a supportive setting.
