Located in the heart of South Dublin, Nutgrove Shopping Centre is a vibrant retail destination with more than 70 stores, offering a convenient place for people to shop, dine and relax. With free parking, an easy-to-navigate layout and the recent addition of the new Omniplex LUX by Omniplex Cinemas, the centre provides a straightforward and enjoyable experience for the tens of thousands of customers who visit each week.
Serving the Rathfarnham community since 1984, Nutgrove has always played an important role locally. With a strong focus on creating experiences, not just shopping, the centre set out to deliver something truly special for visitors during the festive season.
Great Gambit Promotional Consultancy, an Irish-owned creative and promotional partner, specialises in branding and campaign delivery, with a focus on helping organisations strengthen visibility and connection with their audiences.
How the Partnership Began
Through the DLR West Business Association, Nutgrove Shopping Centre was introduced to Great Gambit with a clear goal: transform a vacant retail unit into an immersive Santa’s Grotto that would attract families and create a memorable Christmas experience.
It was a perfect example of local businesses connecting to deliver something meaningful for the community.
The Project
Great Gambit designed and delivered a fully immersive Santa’s Grotto – managing the concept, build, décor, installation and logistics from start to finish. The result was a high-quality, festive space that captured the magic of Christmas while aligning with the centre’s brand and seasonal trading strategy. Families visited specifically for the experience, with many extending their time in the centre – benefiting retailers across the board.
